You get the Clarty IPL handset, safety glasses, a skin scraper, a UK power adapter and an English user manual. The handset weighs 161g and uses 22W mains power.
Read the supplied user manual before first use. Start on level 1 and move up only when you are comfortable. Use auto-flash for larger areas and manual mode for edges and smaller areas. Follow the schedule in the user manual.
The manual's chart, in words: on fair to light skin (its first three tones) use levels 3 to 5; on medium brown skin, levels 1 and 2 only; on dark brown and black skin it isn't suitable and the sensor won't fire. Hair on the chart: black, dark brown, brown, and dark blonde or light brown. Not on it: blonde, red, grey and white, because the light needs pigment in the hair to work on. Not over tattoos. The built-in sensor checks your skin before every flash. If it won't flash on you, that's a 14-day return.
IPL works gradually. Hair that is treated regularly tends to grow back slower and finer over several weeks, and it needs keeping up. Results vary with hair colour and skin tone, and dark hair on lighter skin responds best. The flash itself feels like a warm snap rather than a sting, and you set the level.
Delivery is free across Great Britain. We dispatch in 1 to 3 working days and delivery takes 5 to 10 working days. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. If the sensor won't flash on your skin, that's a 14-day return. Tell us within 14 days of delivery and send it back, no questions asked. Once it reaches us, we'll process your refund within 48 hours.
A warm handset and a warm plug after a full leg are normal. If it gets too hot it stops flashing by itself and the fan keeps running. Leave it plugged in, give it 15 minutes, then carry on. That's the overheat protection, not a fault. 12-month Clarty warranty. If it stops flashing, send us a short video of it and we send a replacement, no repair wait.
The handset has 5 intensity levels, a built-in skin-tone sensor, auto and manual modes, and 22W mains power through a UK three-pin adapter. The box also contains safety glasses, a skin scraper and an English user manual. The single-handset offer includes 2 aloe gels.
Clarty runs from a UK 3-pin adapter, 22 W. There's no battery to die in a drawer between sessions.

The supplier lists the lamp at 100,000 flashes. The flash window is 3.15 cm² and the manual asks for 3 passes per session. Lower legs, underarms and bikini line come to about 1,500 cm², so a session is about 1,430 flashes. The 8-week plan is 14 sessions, about 20,000 flashes, leaving about 80,000 for monthly top-ups: roughly 56 of them, or about 5 years. Full legs and arms every session use the lamp about 4 times faster, so budget about a year of heavy use. No handset lamp lasts for ever; ours is mains-powered so there is no battery to fail first.
IPL sends brief pulses of broad-spectrum light towards pigment in the hair. The built-in skin-tone sensor works alongside 5 intensity levels. Auto-flash is there for larger areas, while manual mode gives you control around edges and smaller areas. The handset stays plugged into mains power, so there is no battery to charge.
Week 2 usually looks like nothing has happened. That's normal. Keep to 2 sessions a week, same areas, same order, and don't add new areas yet. The 8-week plan page ticks off each session, so keep going even when you can't see a change.
IPL uses broad-spectrum light that is absorbed by pigment in the hair. Published work has studied home-use IPL devices, and separate guidance covers the safe use of light-based home hair-removal devices. The cited results are for the devices studied, not Clarty. Follow the supplied user manual.
Clarty was started by Jane, a beautician from Surrey, after years of paying a salon £200 to £500 a course. She tried the handsets on herself first and kept the one that felt like a warm snap rather than a sting. That is the one in the box.
Most people describe the flash as a warm snap against the skin, not a sting. Start on level 1 and move up only when you are comfortable. Five levels and the skin-tone sensor keep the setting in your hands.
IPL directs light at the pigment in the hair, so the contrast between hair colour and skin tone matters. It is generally better suited to darker hair. The handset has a built-in skin-tone sensor, and the user guide includes a shade chart to check before first use. If it turns out not to suit you, you have 14 days to return it.
The box holds the Clarty IPL handset, safety glasses, skin scraper, UK power adapter and English user manual. It runs on mains power (100-240V), so there is no battery to charge or replace. The handset weighs 161g.
Delivery is free across Great Britain on orders over £75, which includes this handset. We dispatch within 1 to 3 working days and delivery takes 5 to 10 working days. We deliver to England, Scotland and Wales only. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, in line with UK consumer law.
The 8-week plan: 2 sessions a week for 6 weeks, then 1 a week for weeks 7 and 8. After that, a top-up when it regrows.
Legs, face, underarms and bikini line. Use auto-flash on the bigger areas and manual mode around the edges, and stick to what the user manual permits.
