What's in the box?
5 things: the Clarty IPL handset, a pair of safety glasses, a skin scraper, a UK 3-pin power adapter and the English user manual. Nothing else to buy, no refills, no subscription.
Does it need charging?
No. It's mains powered (22W, through the UK adapter), so it works for as long as it's plugged in and there's no battery to fade or replace.
How many sessions will I need?
IPL works over a course, not in one go. Most people use it on each area once a week for the first 8 to 12 weeks, then drop to an occasional top-up. Hair grows in cycles, so an area needs several passes before you'll have covered every hair in its growing phase. We can't promise you a number of weeks or a result, because it depends on your hair, your skin and how consistently you use it.
Who is it not for?
IPL directs light at the pigment in the hair, so it needs contrast between hair and skin. It is not for use on very dark skin tones (the built-in skin-tone sensor won't flash where it isn't safe to) or on tattoos, and it is much less effective on white, grey, red and very light blonde hair, where there isn't enough pigment for the light to act on. The user manual has a shade chart to check before your first session. If it turns out not to suit you, you have 14 days to send it back.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe it as a warm snap against the skin, not a sting. Start on level 1 and move up only when you're comfortable. There are 5 levels and you're the one holding the button.
Do I need to wear the safety glasses?
Yes, every session. They're in the box for a reason: never look at the flash window or point it at your eyes.
How long is delivery?
We pack and hand your order to the carrier within 1 to 3 working days, and most orders arrive within 5 to 10 working days. It's free on this handset across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales). You'll get a tracking link by email when it leaves. Full detail is on our delivery page.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, and 30 days to reject anything faulty or not as described. Email us first so we can send you the right returns address. The full policy is on our returns and refunds page.
